"Like many of my other icons, when I painted Led Zeppelin I showed them at the height of their popularity. Robert Plant and Jimmy Page are up front and John Paul Jones and John Bonham behind them. It's black and white to keep it in historical context, tying them in to the Hindenburg explosion like they used on their first album cover. They are in their 1960s attire, I have a photo of the four of them that I based the painting on. I'm working on a new painting of them, they will be in their heyday in the new one too."
