David's Inspiration

"It's funny to think of Sammy Hagar and David Lee Roth together, but they toured with each other and without Van Halen in 2002. Hagar has always had that bright red nose, so I started with his nose and that became the whole color scheme. My favorite part is David Lee Roth's big domed head. Sometimes it takes a while to pick out the feature (of a person) that stands out, you just don't know where you're going to go. I'll do a number of sketches and then take a break and come back and look at it again. With David Lee Roth I always knew it was his head, the head is the first thing you look at. "
