David's Inspiration
"The tribute to Ricky Martin oil painting was done at the peak of his popularity, when "Livin' la Vida Loca” was on top of the charts. I went to Publix to try and find some photographs of him to use and found four magazines that had great photographs of him - he was all over the place. The painting is in the shape of a spiral, his fingers and the microphone bring your eye into his face and his eyes and mouth. I love that deep blue tone it has."
