He just wins games!
David O'Keefe's tribute to Tim Tebow was
painted during the 2011 National Football League season when the Denver Broncos
had an unexpected run toward the playoffs led by the inspirational quarterback.
Tebow led his team to six fourth-quarter comebacks during the regular season
and the Broncos beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in a wild-card playoff game in
overtime. On the first play of overtime, Tebow threw an 80-yard touchdown pass
to Demaryius Thomas. Tebow's 316 passing yards in the game and average of 31.6
yards per completion, were seen by some to be a sign of divine intervention
because of Tebow's strong Christian beliefs and his special fondness for the
Bible verse John 3:16. Tebow's icon status actually started here in Florida
where he was the first sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy and where University
of Florida fans told jokes comparing him to Superman.
The 30-by-40 inch oil-on-canvas depicts Tebow in his
Broncos uniform with clenched fist after one of his many touchdowns.
